Bakery owners have a responsibility to create a safe work environment, provide
safety training for workers, and reinforce safe behavior by their workers.
Workers have a responsibility to follow established procedures and work in a
safe manner. These questions are designed to help owners analyze workers’
actions, prevent injuries and illnesses, and minimize losses. The focus should
be on promoting safe acts and correcting unsafe behavior and conditions.

Provide safety training for all new workers and refresher safety training
annually?

Provide ground fault protection for electric outlets at sinks and around wet
work areas?

Ensure all work areas are well-ventilated and properly illuminated?

Provide bake racks with handles for ease of movement?

bending the fingers under while holding the food with the other hand?

material that may cause a slippery floor?
