Use the proper network medical facilities.
- Many states allow employers to actively direct the medical
care of their injured employees within state guidelines. It is very important for
the employer to comply with the state guidelines in order to take the best advantage
of our managed care capabilities. Refer to the individual states below for more
information.
- Getting your injured employee to a doctor or medical
facility that provides the best care is extremely important. Doctors in our network
work with us to heal the injury and get your employee back to work. We also control
the medical costs with preapproved discount pricing for services.
- A list of your local network doctors and facilities will
be mailed to you separately, or you can call 800.374.4990 for details.
- Once you have reviewed the list of network doctors, we
recommend that you select your providers and notify the provider of your selection
to your medical panel. We are providing a sample letter that you can copy, paste and adjust, as necessary,
on your own letterhead.
- Keep in contact with the employee to find out when your
employee will be able to return to work. Let the employee know that you are willing
to help get him or her back to work at a time and work level that's appropriate.
And don't forget to tell the claims adjuster of any developments.
